Smash: Trial by Fire

First of the series by Chris A. Bolton and Kyle Bolton. Sommerville, MA: Candlewick Press, 2013

Andrew (and others) are being bullied at school by Gareth and his two side-kicks. While in Andrew's active imagination he's the superhero Defender protector of all good kids, in real life his brother and Gareth just keep walloping him as he stands up for himself and others. Then one day Andrew somehow absorbs the true Defender's power. Now it's now up to Andre to save the citizens of Seatown. The problem is Andrew’s only in fifth grade and is afraid of heights.
