The Storm in the Barn

A historical fiction story set in Kansas, 1937 and is the story of eleven-year-old Jack Clark who faces not only horrific dust bowl storms, but town bullies, a sister who always seems to get into trouble and his father’s expectations. This is about Jack’s bravery and his path to becoming the hero the people around him need him to be. It can be integrated into social studies units for its portrayal of life in Dust Bowl - Kansas, 1937.
