Around the World

A nonfiction graphic novel about the lives of three famous adventurers of the late 1900’s: Thomas Stevens, Nellie Bly and Joshua Slocum. Inspired by Jules Verne’s Around the World in Eighty Days it can be integrated into language arts; science themes (science as inquiry; science and technology standards; history and nature of science standards); and social studies themes (historical events; continuity and change among and between cultures; national and community institutions; and global connections).

Awards: Kirkus, School Library Journal, Booklist, and Bulletin of the Center of Children's Books starred reviews; nomination for two Eisner Awards; Winner of the Carolyn Field Award.
